Blackjack

Call Bets simply put, are markers that a player requests to complete the current hand.

They can request a marker for:
- Double-Downs
- Splits
- Insurance

The most important thing you need to know about call bets is that you will never handle one alone; floor will always be involved. So the second you hear a player request a marker, always call floor and get approval before proceeding.

Call bets typically come in 2 different flavors:
- Double Marker
- Invisible Marker

Double Marker: If floor instructs you to do a double marker, you will cut-out the same amount as the payer's bet - twice, on the right side of the shuffle pad. One of the stacks will go on the right side of the rack on the table, the other will be delivered to the player as a short-term loan that MUST be paid back at the end of the hand.

One of the distinguishing differences between double markers and invisible markers is the fact that regardless of the player winning or losing, the player will owe the value of their marker if a double marker was performed.

Invisible Marker: If your floor supervisor instructs you to perform an invisible marker, you will cut-out an amount usually equal to the player's bet then place those cheques on the right side of the dealer's rack to signify a debt that they MIGHT owe.

With invisible markers, players will only have to pay the marker back if they lose the hand that the marker was used on. If they win the hand, no debt is owed.

Do not forget to say the words, "Marker Paid, Marker Down" after a player has paid down their marker.
