Blackjack

In order for you to play or deal the game of 21 a.k.a blackjack, you first need to understand how to count the cards and then apply that knowledge to understanding the object of the game.

Put simply, you, as the player, will continue to take cards until you are as close to 21 as you can get, without going over 21. If your hand totals more than 21, you lose automatically.

All players will be trying to get closer to 21 than the dealer. The dealer will also be attempting to get as close to 21 as possible. If the dealer goes over 21, all remaining players win even money. If the dealer is closer to 21 than you however, you lose. That is the concept of the game.

There is a special case that this video lesson didn't cover; the event in which you or the dealer receives a blackjack.

A blackjack is where you receive a 10-value card and an Ace in the first 2 cards you receive. This will add up to 21. So a 2-card 21 is considered an automatic win in this game. However; sometimes the dealer can have a blackjack too. In that case, you will not receive any money and you will not lose either; resulting in what's known as a "push" or a tie.

The concept of a blackjack and more dealing procedures will be described in further detail in the following video lessons.
