Playing back a hand will eventually be something that you will need to do on a live game. This is a fairly simple skill that can easily be overlooked but it is a very convenient one to know.
Remember: NEVER FIX YOUR OWN MISTAKES!!
Floor should be the only person that can tell you to play back a hand. If a player requests a play-back, call floor and get approval from them first.
To ensure a proper playback, you need to have a proper sweep. There are 2 types of sweeps; dealer-hand first, or player hands first.
In the event you must sweep the dealer-hand first, the dealer's right-most card should go UNDERNEATH the card left of that one. This trend will continue for the rest of the dealer-cards as well as the player's cards. This will ensure that the order of the dealer's hand will remain in the proper order on the playback.
If your casino requires you to start sweeping the player's hands first and the dealer's hand last, your sweep will be slightly modified but the playback order will remain the same. If you must sweep up player's hands first, sweep as normal. However; when you sweep up the dealer's hand, you must perform something known as a "back-sweep".
Holding the player's cards in-hand, you will lay the player's cards face up on top of the dealer's left-most card, then pick up that card as well as the rest of the player's cards that you sat down on the one card. You will continue to repeat this as needed for all of the dealer's cards. You are essentially picking up the dealer's cards one by one from left to right. This will maintain the proper order on the playback and ensuring the dealer's hand will be on top and first on the playback.
